Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION OF THE MANUSCRIPT

The manuscript should be submitted in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, RTF or WordPerfect format: font – Times New Roman, size – 12, line spacing – a single spacing of the computer standard. All fields are 1 cm long. Paragraph is 1.25 cm long. Pages are not numbered; text is typed without hyphenation.

The article is submitted in the original language: Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, English.

The article must necessarily contain the following elements: statement of the problem in general form and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks; analysis of the main research and publications on the issue raised; wording of the purpose of the article; coverage of the procedure of theoretical and methodological and / or experimental research indicating the research; presentation of the main research material with the justification of the scientific results obtained; research findings and prospects for further research.

The text of the article should be carefully checked and edited by the author. The article is not executed in accordance with the requirements, with semantic, grammatical or stylistic errors, it is not accepted for publication.

ATTENTION! It is not allowed to use the data that was presented in defended dissertation research, as well as previously published articles.

The approximate volume of the article is from 8 pages in A4 format (there are no restrictions on increasing the number of pages).

Article structure:

1. The first line (center alignment in bold with italics) is the name and surname of the author / authors in Latin letters (regardless of the article language).
2. The next line (center alignment in bold in capital letters) is the title of the article in English.
3. The next line (center alignment in capital letters) is the title of the article in Polish. The item is optional if the language of the article is English.
4. The next line (after the digression is centered in capital letters) is the word ABSTRACT.
5. The next line (alignment in width, size – 10) – abstract in English. Volume – at least 1800 characters with spaces. The abstract should contain the following structural elements in bold text: article's purpose, methodology, scientific novelty, conclusions. At the end of the annotation, Key words are written with a new paragraph. After the colon, no more than five key words (phrases) are listed.
6. The next line (after the retreat, center alignment in capital letters) is the word STRESZCZENIE. The item is optional if the language of the article is English.
7. The next line (alignment in width, size – 10) – abstract in Polish. Volume – at least 1800 characters with spaces. The abstract should contain the following structural elements highlighted in bold text: the purpose of the article, methodology, scientific novelty, conclusions. At the end of the annotation, Słowa kluczowe are written with a new paragraph. After the colon, no more than five key words (phrases) are listed. The item is optional if the language of the article is English.
8. Through the line – the main text of the article in accordance with the structural elements: problem statement, research findings, conclusions, which are indicated in the text with alignment on the left side, size – 14. If the article language is Polish, then the structural elements are: opis problemu, wyniki i ich omówienia, wnioski.
9. The text of the article should contain links to all sources in the list of references. References in the text of the article are indicated in square brackets, for example [11], the page number of the printed publication is separated by a comma, for example, [11, 128] or [11, 55–56]. Link to several sources: [3–6] or [2; 7, 11].
10. Tables, diagrams, figures, diagrams must be copyright, not copied from other publications and numbered. They are placed without a paragraph in the center of the page immediately after the link to them in the text of the article or on the next page. The word "Table" and its number are written in italics on top of the alignment case, and the line below the alignment center – the name of the table. Illustrations (drawings, flowcharts, graphs) should be made in one of the graphic editors. Drawings should be submitted in black and white (without halftones), contrasting. Illustrations are signed at the bottom center alignment.
11. Formulas and letter designations of quantities are typed in the MathType-Equation editor and served in the text or in a separate line without indentation, center alignment, numbered in Arabic numerals in parentheses on the right side of the page.
12. After the main text of the article is a list of references. It should contain only those sources referenced in the text. The word «References» in capital letters spells alignment. The following are alphabetically numbered used literature. Each source should be issued in accordance with the APA standard (examples of paperwork in the online version of any issue of this journal).
13. The following characters are used in the text of the article: paws – («»), apostrophe – ('), separated by a dash (–), and not a hyphen (-). The colon (:) is placed without space.
14. At the end of the article, the date it was sent to the editorial office is indicated on a new line.
15. The next line is the surname and initial of the author’s name in Latin letters (bold text). After a comma, the following is listed in English: academic degree, academic title, email.
16. The next line is marked by the author's ORCID (required, but exceptions are possible for religious beliefs).
17. The next line – marked by Scopus Author ID (if available).
18. The next line – marked ResearcherID (if available).
19. Next line – the author’s place of work is marked in English (department, institute, HEI, etc.).
20. Next line – the address of the author’s place of work is marked in English (house number, street, city, zip code, country).
21. If there are several authors, then steps 15–20 are repeated for all of them with clarification – under the address it is noted what exactly the co-author did to write this article. You need to choose from the list: 1) study design, 2) data collection, 3) statistical analysis, 4) manuscript preparation, 5) funds collection.

The editorial team is not responsible for the content of articles and may not share the point of view of the authors!

 

ARTICLE PUBLICATION CHARGES

There are no fees for publishing articles in Biota magazine. All publications are free of charge.

 

ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES

The price for technical and scientific processing of the article is $15. Provided that the Editorial Board recognizes the research materials as relevant for the purpose of the journal, the article can be processed free of charge, about what the author / authors will be informed in advance after the article is accepted for publication.

An additional paid service is the translation of the article into English or Polish. Please check the price of this service with the Editor-in-Chief.

Details for payment will be provided to the author / authors at the personal email address specified during registration on the site.

 

PRESS APPROVAL PROCESS

The deadlines for submitting articles to the new issue are announced on the main page of this site.

The submission of the article's manuscript, its editing and reviewing are carried out through the site biota.chnpu.edu.ua.
